Hi, and welcome to Warm and Collected!

I'm a genealogist, among other things, so I spend a lot of time with old records, old newspapers, and other people's family stories. Somewhere along the way I realized recipes are family history too. A recipe card in your grandmother's handwriting can tell you as much about her as a census record, and sometimes more.

That's how this blog started. Some of what you'll find here comes straight from my grandmothers and great-grandmothers, and every so often my parents' recipes sneak in too. Some are recipes I've found in old newspapers and in cookbooks that belonged to other families and some are my own.
